Lagoon Wash

$315.00

Vase with translucent, crackled variegated green on one side merging into deep crystalline teal and turquoise on the other.

Stoneware. Fully functional.

Wheel thrown. Various glazes.

6” h x 8” w

…

This vase has undergone two separate wood firings. The first time resulted in a dingy moss green with areas of dull matte finish. I knew it could be more, so I waited several months and then fired it again. This time it developed on one side into a glossy, brighter, more dynamic green with areas of plum. And the other side received the most atmospheric exposure and cured to express deep turquoise and crystallization. Its a wonderful example of what biding your time can yield.

One of a kind.
