Toasted Cream

$55.00
Sold

Cup of rustic, stone-like toasted brown and flares of orange. Areas of white crackled glaze are highlighted by a shining bright copper.

Stoneware. Fully functional.

Wheel thrown. Shino glaze.

3” h x 3 1/2” w (~ 7 oz)

…

A relaxed pour with a well timed flick of the wrist resulted in a glaze that dances lightly across the surface of this cup.

Consideration of which items are placed next to each other is frequently a factor in woodfiring, because the “ghost” of an item can show up on a neighboring piece as the fire and atmospheric materials move around objects. Here’s a nice demonstration of both intention and serendipity resulting in the bright orange halo of a shape on the outside of this cup.

One of a kind.
